The Rule of Three
One of the main reasons we created Bess & George is to make it easier for women like us to get dressed! So that idea got me thinking…….
We designed our clothing to be the “go to” pieces in women’s closets. If it makes life a little bit easier to have some tops or some dresses that you love, and that you can easily dress up or dress down for any occasion, are there any other tips that could make the process even easier?
And I think I found one! It makes complete and total sense and I do not know why I have not ever heard of it before. Simply put, it is called “The Rule of Three.”
Most women wear a top and a bottom of some sort, or just a dress, for their outfit. Of course it is absolutely fine to do this, but if you want to elevate your look a bit an easy trick is to add to your outfit until you hit three pieces.
Some examples of items you could add to your outfit would be:
- Hat, belt, scarf, sunglasses, statement jewelry
“The Rule of Three” in action would mean for your top and your skirt/pants outfit, you might add a jacket, a blazer, a cardigan or a scarf.
If you are wearing a dress you could add a statement necklace and a pair of earrings or a statement piece of jewelry and a belt or a hat.
How easy is that?
Tell us some pieces that you would add to your outfit- we would love to hear from you!
